Tom Lee Engineering New Product Launch Seminar

As one of the pro audio pioneers in local market over 3 decades, Tom Lee Engineering has teamed up with Mackie, One Systems and Sony recently to unfurl latest product lines at the newly opened service facility in October, 2013.                                               

Themed with “a total solution of audio application”, it was a new product launch experience day combined seminars and distinctive live demonstrations which widely covered advance digital mixers and speakers of Mackie, weatherproof sound reinforcement system of One Systems and wireless power microphone package of Sony. As the saying goes “hearing is believing”, the event has received a full attendance as diverse as pro audio system integrators, dealers, engineers and end-users from education, communications and hospitality sectors. Having expanded in 2012, the well equipped audiovisual aids and 3,000 sq.ft. new multi-purpose hall of Tom Lee Engineering are ideal to accommodate the acoustic needs in experiencing integrated power via a series of live demos.

Spearheaded by wireless power, Mr. Steven Yim of Sony brought the benefits of DWZ-series M50, B30GB and M70, B70HL digital wireless microphone packages to audience. Designed for musicians, guitarists, and vocalists, presenters respectively, there are incredible feedback suppression technologies to support every performance with high fidelity and maximum speech intelligibility. Not only did Steven carry out a feedback test by using the DWZ-M70 presentation microphone, a demo of terrific vocal and guitar performance afterwards also impressed audience by proven wireless reliability.

 

A journey to experience audio power of direct-weather application loudspeakers that overcome outdoor acoustic challenges in any unfavorable weather and extreme conditions were lead by Mr. Mike Torlone of One Systems. Mike dissected speakers’ unique weatherproofing features of 3-layer rain shield grilles and weather-treated components in details. Apart from 316-grade stainless steel models, new released Natatorium series speaker systems (108/NAT & 112/NAT) are firstly introduced to Hong Kong, the molybdenum stainless steel structure of speakers are specifically designed for use in indoor swimming pool with chlorine-based chemicals resistance. Other than the strength of corrosion resistance, what aroused audience most interests were the astonishing sound quality devoted by Equivalent Throat TechnologyTM and Inside/Only Voice CoilTM design. High premium sonic performance was ingeniously delivered to audiences’ ears through application-based sharing and demonstration.

 

Extensive yet informative sessions came to a sharp focus on enhanced digital mixing and sound reinforcement power presented by keynote speaker Mr. Rohan Smith of Mackie. Among a wealth of new released products, the stars of which were the VLZ4 series high-headroom, low-noise analogue mixers, as well as DL series digital compact mixers. As the main PA system of seminar room relied on wide sweet spot MRmk3 series powered studio monitors and subwoofer, Rohan revealed the flexibility and mobility of DL series, DL806 8-channel & DL1608 16-channel digital live sound mixer, full control mixing power by i-Phone and i-Pad, whilst the wide selection of 1600W SRM systems (SRM550, SRM650 loudspeakers & SRM1850 subwoofer) and HD series scalable, arrayable powered loudspeakers catered all types of needs from studio to live sound applications. Last but not least, to break away from traditional one by one sound demonstration, the launch experience day was completed by a thrilling band performance in which Sony M50 microphone, Mackie 2404VLZ4 mixer and “The new shape of sound”—2000W DLM12 loudspeakers along with DLM12S subwoofer were applied as a perfect illustration of integrated applications & solutions.
