CHINA: Tom Lee Engineering recently partnered with Very Hong Kong to support Hong Kong’s first citywide community-led cultural festival, which aimed to promote local culture, creativity and redefine the more forgotten areas of the city through the utilisation of public and urban spaces with various innovative events.
The Intersection of Lai Yip Street and 136 Hoi Bun Road of Kwun Tong was used for the ‘Very Involved’ event, which was hosted in a spacious venue. ‘We set up the stage with a grand piano, a Shure Beta58 vocal microphone system and vertical Peecker sound Upturned T series stackable speakers and subwoofers as the left/right sound reinforcement system,’ said Pinky Chow, promotions and advertising executive, Tom Lee Engineering. Meanwhile, Mackie SRM450 active speakers were deployed to cover ancillary fills at the far back.
The second event was named ‘Very Street’, which took place at the Sun Street, Moon Street and Dominion Garden of Wanchai. A variety of creative activities including a catwalk, exhibition corners, kiosks and a number of musical performances attracted hundreds of spectators.
‘For this we deployed Lobo PL288 line array speakers,’ said Ms Chow. ‘On the other hand, SRM450 active speakers were applied as a wide dispersion solution to kiosks, whilst Peecker Sound Upturned T series speakers and a Yamaha DM1000 digital mixer catered to the needs of the live bands.’
